What We Collect
RefereEZ collects minimal data to operate the site. When you vote or comment, we store a browser fingerprint — a non-personal identifier generated from your device and browser characteristics. This is used solely to enforce one vote per game per visitor. We do not collect your name, location, or any personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily submit your email address for game notifications.
Email Addresses
If you sign up for game notifications, we store your email address. We use it only to notify you when games go live. We do not sell, share, or rent your email address to third parties. You can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@refereez.com.
Votes & Comments
Votes and comments are anonymous and associated only with your browser fingerprint, not your identity. Comments are public and visible to all visitors. Do not include personal information in comments. We reserve the right to remove comments that violate our content guidelines.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This collects aggregate, anonymized data such as page views and referrer sources. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.
Cookies
RefereEZ uses a theme preference cookie to remember your light or dark mode setting. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
Third Party Services
We use Supabase for database hosting and FingerprintJS for visitor identification. These services have their own privacy policies. We use the ESPN API to retrieve publicly available game schedules and scores — no user data is shared with ESPN.
